please read a history book, fiscal conservatives

I realize I’m preaching to the choir (i.e. my one reader, hi Yogisarah) but I have the following issues with the “tea parties” - setting aside the fact that it’s not that hard to know that “tea bagging” means something a hell of a lot different, you morons at Fox News. Granted I am way oversimplifing the Revolution here, but not as much as Dick Armey is! - The Boston Tea Party was in protest of unfair tarifs on goods - hence the tea - not really the same thing as protesting how your government is spending money. - If you’re going for an underlying tax-related reason, taxation without representation, the only people, I believe, who can legitimately complain about paying taxes are residents of the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and all those protectorates who are in fact taxed without representation. (if protectorates pay taxes.) Minnesota being unable to elect a Senator is not good enough. If you’re going to plan giant protests using historical examples, please research them first! I’m not a Revolution expert but I’m also not trying to get national exposure for my protest. It’s like people who talk about Brown v. Board of Ed without realizing that it applied to schools, not everything. Just knowing the name of something and having a hazy, vague idea of what it was about is not enough.
