Chez Alverda

“working near home keeps getting easier”

one of the volunteers is on the phone with her husband, trying to decide whether or not to put down their cat who’s in kidney failure.  her daughter-in-law the vet is arguing strenuously against it.  I hadn’t thought of this disadvantage to having a vet in the family.  (although, my friend’s sister the vet is the one who told me to kill her dying pet mouse - I was mouse-sitting - by grabbing its head and tail and pulling.  wtf?!!  I guess there’s different kinds of vets.)  (I didn’t do it; I took it to the humane society and they dealt with the poor dying mouse for me, presumably in a more humane fashion.  I did not know it was dying when I agreed to mouse-sit.)  uh, anyway, after talking to my volunteer about it I went straight home and thanked the old cat for not being in total kidney failure. (she was like, dude, what? I’m trying to sleep.)  This is an advantage to having a 20 second commute.  that was the point of this post: I love my cats and sometimes I love my commute.  the end.
